Public officials have been entrusted by citizens to serve in the public's best interest. The State Ethics Law was enacted to strengthen the faith and confidence of citizens in their government and to ensure that the financial interests of public officials, nominees or candidates do not conflict with the public trust. Designed to explain the mandates of the Ethics Act as it relates to public officials and employees, this online class will explore and define potential conflicts of interest which should be avoided. Actual scenarios will be presented and discussed.
