This webinar will discuss common on-street parking issues, such as sight distance limitations at intersections, space marking/curb painting, and parking space management, as well as discussing current thinking on “curbside management.” Curbside management is the concept of balancing the needs of all road users, plus all the other uses for the parking lane; transportation services (taxis, Uber, Lyft), delivery vehicles, take-out food pick-up, micro-mobility devices, pick-up/drop-offs, electric vehicles, bicycles/e-bikes, pedestrians/crossings, business needs, ADA accessibility, emergency services, public works, transit, and vehicles. Further aspects include the streetscape, parklets, and the aesthetics of the curbside environment. We will use examples from around PA and other locations to provide examples of innovative and successful curbside treatments, as well as answer questions on your local parking concerns.
